About the Law Offices of Ellis, Young & Tidwell L.L.P.

We provide full services in litigation and transactional fields, including Civil, Criminal and Business Law, Appellate Law, Collections and Banking Law, Family Law, Real Estate, and Estate Planning and Probate.

Both Gary D. Young and Sydney Young have been licensed to practice in Texas since 1992 and have appeared for clients in all courts in Lamar County, as well as before courts in Bowie County, Delta County, Fannin County, Franklin County, Hopkins County, Red River County and Titus County. They are both also licensed to practice and represent clients in the area federal courts: the United States District Courts, Eastern District Court of Texas, Paris, Sherman, Tyler, Texarkana, and Beaumont Divisions; the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit Court in New Orleans, Louisiana; and the United States Supreme Court. Gary is also licensed to practice in the Eastern District Court of Oklahoma.

After enjoying separate practices in Paris and the surrounding area since 1994, Gary D. Young and Sydney Young decided to merge their complimentary practices. In 1999, they formed The Law Offices of Young & Young, a Professional Corporation and began renovating their current offices, along with fellow building owners: Edward D. Ellis, attorney and mediator, the Honorable Webb Biard, visiting judge and mediator, and the late Tom D. Wells, III. In March of 2001, the law offices opened up an additional office in Paris (2765 Loop 286), where Sydney has moved her transactional practice.   This move was made because of the ownership of Young Title Company, Inc., which provides title services in Lamar County.
